The Australia and New Zealand banking group (ANZ) has announced that Carole Berndt will join the bank as Managing Director of Global Transaction Banking.

Berndt will join from Royal Bank of Scotland, where she is the Global Head of Transaction Services, based in the UK. In the past she has held a similar role at Bank of America Merill Lynch, covering the EMEA region.

She began her career at Australian insurance giants Allianz and ING, before progressing to senior product management and client delivery roles at Citigroup, both in New York and Hong Kong.

At ANZ, she will report to Andrew Géczy, CEO of International and Institutional Banking.

Carole has deep international banking experience, having worked in senior roles across Europe, America, Asia and Australia,” commented Géczy

Her appointment is another example of how ANZ continues to attract high calibre bankers to support the build-out of our client offering.”
